As a Postpartum Doula, Lactation Peer Counselor, and Breastfeeding Mother, I know how difficult breastfeeding can be in those beginning months. Your baby is learning to eat in the outside world full of distractions, and you, as a mother, are trying to comfort and nurture your child. My daughter was born premature and we struggled a lot during those first weeks. It was a cycle of attempting to breastfeed, crying, then pumping and trying to feed her with a bottle.
